Being a Critic

Ever been a critic of someone? When you think that they should've done this and should've done that? When you think that they did something stupid and ended screwing things up?
Well, maybe you should revisit that thought again.
When someone has done something adverse to your opinion, instead of looking at things with the benefit of hindsight, try putting yourself in their shoes and instead of thinking what you would've done, try to imagine why they did what was done in that situation.
We all like to think we would've done better, sometimes so do I...but I know for a fact, not everyone can do the right thing. Not because they cannot do it but because in a given situation, sometimes we weigh our options differently and most of the times we dont even weigh our options. Do not assume that you would do the right thing in any given situation. We are all human and if we always were able to do the right thing, we wouldn't be.
Give everyone a chance, no matter how much you despise them...

Yeah, I must say I agree with you. It's always easy to sit and criticize someone and impose your views on them. But the first thing we should do when we feel like criticizing someone is to stop and give it a thought about how we would feel if someone were to say the same to us.

hmmm...not so much as to how we would feel. why do we always equate everything to ourselves?
each one of us is different and not without reason.
instead of wondering what we would feel, it would be much more constructive to first understand someone else's point of view and once you have atleast made an attempt at it, you may form an opinion.
criticism is constructive...we mustn't shy away from it. however, being opinionated and judgemental is what maybe needs to be reconsidered...

i am a tad bit of a critic, sometimes i do put myself in the same situation and think would i have done the same thing. but then its not the same thing you know becauzse people think differently.
and then there are times i dont put myself in their shoes because i think they are definitely more intelligent than me and would do the right thing and still they end up doin that stupid thing... am i making sense ?

yeah you're making sense.
and yeah, it isnt easy to think from someone else's perspective but that definitely doesnt mean that we shy away from doing it.
sometimes we need to think as to why was something done rather than thinking what should have been done. if you do that, things done, arent really all that stupid!
